Pierre-Yves BOSSHARD


Born in 1963, Pierre-Yves BOSSHARD studied law at the University of Lausanne.

After he had become a member of the Bar Association of Geneva in 1989, Pierre-Yves Bosshard completed his law internship at the law firm BERGER, RECORDON, DE SAUGY, at the Legal Department of the Directorate for Construction Policy and at the Administrative Court.

He passed his bar examination in 1992 and then worked as a clerk at the Cantonal Court of Vaud while at the same time pursuing a political career. He opened a law firm at Morges in 1998.

At the beginning of 2000, he was appointed to the Bench as a District Court President, first of all temporarily at the Civil Court of the Cantonal Court of Vaud and then at the Est vaudois and at the Côte.

Elected as a cantonal judge at the end of 2001, he mainly worked at the Debt Enforcement and Bankruptcy Court which he presided in 2007 and 2008 and at the Civil Court which he presided in 2009 and 2010. He has also been a member of the Constitutional Court of Vaud since its inception and presided it in 2012.

Pierre-Yves BOSSHARD has written several scientific contributions in the fields of constitutional law, civil procedure and debt enforcement and bankruptcy.

He joined the law firm R&R AVOCATS in September 2013.

Pierre-Yves BOSSHARD is specialised in commercial law, business law, law of obligations, enforcement law, public law, constitutional law and administrative law.

In addition to French, which is his mother tongue, he also speaks German and English.

Pierre-Yves BOSSHARD is a member of the Bar Association of Geneva, the Swiss Bar Association, the Lausanne University Centre for Business Law (CEDIDAC) and the association for debt enforcement and bankruptcy (Association LP).
